What is the Atlanta Swing Era Dance Association (ASEDA)?

The purpose of the Atlanta Swing Era Dance Association is simple ... to be the resource for swing dancing in the Atlanta region. ASEDA is a nonprofit organization that sponsors regular community swing dance events, swing dance workshops and any opportunity to show a zeal for the dances and music of the swing era. Our dances, lessons, and Big-Band trivia prowess are open and available to anyone interested - we're equal-opportunity dancers.

So check out our pages to find out about the next ASEDA-sponsored event, swing dance classes, and most importantly, how to join our family.

Wonder where the Swing Kids went?

The Swing dancing hep cats, the jitterbugs cutting a rug with an energetic Lindy Hop or the crazy legged flappers doing the Charleston?

They're still here and dancing several times a week! Stop missing out

The Atlanta dance scene has enormous variety. Swing venues range from the finest Atlanta ballroom dance studios to historic lofts and taverns and even a cabin in the woods.

In addition to Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing (6-count Swing) and the Charleston, you are likely to see other Swing Era dances and their descendants on Atlanta dance floors: Balboa, West Coast Swing, Collegiate Shag and Blues Dancing are encountered alongside the more common Swing dance flavors.

New to Swing dance? Never heard of Lindy Hop? No worries!

There are multiple ways to learn how to swing dance. Many Atlanta dance venues have a Swing lesson beforehand. There are also many dance workshops and multi-session Swing dance classes.

Pick your day of the week. Pick your atmosphere. Pick yourself up off the couch and come out Swing dancing!

The Atlanta dance community is easy to join:
