So, there are an awful lot of spammers on the forum these days. Wasn't someone supposed to be checking the people who sign up?

Unfortunately spammers have more time and resources than we have. If you notice most of the spam is now directed towards the forum garage and the reason why is because you don't need to be registered in the site to post here. A little bit of pain, but necessary to have just in case we run into problems, specially login problems.

I will say for every 1 Spammer who makes it to post something on the forum, the moderators have bal-smacked about 20 others - banned them, blocked names, researched TCPIP addresses, and put up with all kinds of foolishness.

Nima, Kate, and myself are trying to keep on top of this until Php comes out with a new/updated 3.0 version.

Yeah, man. Pesky little things. Lots of spammers can try to register, but can't post until one of us aproves them ... so mostly we just zap a lot of people. The only forum category that spammer can post on would be the Forum Garage. (we keep that open in case someone gets locked out and needs to tell us about problems)
